  • Your cell phone will work in Lagos, however, we recommend a couple of things in order to keep your costs down.

    1. The least expensive option is to leave your phone on airplane mode upon arrival and use wifi for all of your mobile device usage.

      1. You can use apps like iMessage and FaceTime to communicate with people back home while on wi-fi/airplane mode.

    2. Download What’sApp. We plan on using an OloRunDMC What’sApp group for communicating with all of the traveling guests while we are there.

    3. You can opt to purchase a Nigerian SIM card that you can pop into your device to give you cellular access in addition to wi-fi while you are in Lagos.

    4. Additionally, check with your cell phone provider. Inquiring about their international plan add-on options. Many providers will provide a flat day rate that will allow you to use your phone abroad the same as at home.

    1. Yellow Fever vaccination is mandatory to travel to Nigeria. This is an out-of-pocket expense, as it is not covered by insurance.

    2. Typhoid vaccination is encouraged, but not mandatory. This is generally covered by insurance.

    3. Malaria preventative medication is highly encouraged, but not required. This is generally covered by insurance.

    4. Zithromax is highly encouraged, and helps treat severe upset stomach. This is generally covered by insurance.

  • Check the official The COVID19 vaccine is not required for entry to Nigeria. However, fully vaccinated travelers no longer require a negative test to enter the country.

    Travelers must present a negative test within one day of departure to re-enter the United States.

  • Your devices will work in Lagos, however, in order to charge your devices you will need an international adapter.

    You will not be able to use your American flat irons, blow dryers, and curlers even with an adapter because the voltage won’t carry over.

  • Non-Nigerian and Non-ECOWAS citizens require a visa in order to visit Nigeria.

    If you don’t know what that is, then the short answer is ‘yes’ you need a visa.

  • Departure: on May 17, 2022 (May 18th arrival)

    Return: on May 23rd, 2022 (May 24th arrival) are the suggested dates of travel to ensure you’re available for all of the festivities.

    This will allow you time to have any fittings/alterations done prior to the ceremony on the 21st.

  • It is recommended to avoid drinking tap water while on this trip. Defer to bottle water which should be readily available in most places.
